Risks with Vasectomy Reversals
As with any surgery, there are risks and complications associated with vasectomy reversals. Reversal of a vasectomy can cause the following: swelling, hemorrhage, infection, loss of a testicle, pain and sometimes even loss of life. These risks are something that a person must consider carefully before having the procedure done. Most of the complications can be tolerated by using simple medical techniques and antibiotics but some things, such as a hemotoma, can require immediate emergency surgery. According to a recent survey, complications from the reversal of a vasectomy occur only about 1% of the time. It may, however, be well worth the risk in your particular situation.
